Tales from Shakespeare

The Tales from Shakespeare collection showcases five popular stories from William Shakespeare. The Tempest is a romantic comedy, with elements of tragedy, where a magnificent storm created by magic brings both young love and a long-awaited revenge to the same island. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a comedy combining themes of romance, jealousy, and trickery, where dreams finally come true on a fine midsummer night. The Merchant of Venice is a comedy with serious themes. It highlights the morals of friendship, true love, wit, and forgiveness. Macbeth is a tragedy, showing that dissatisfaction and greed for power can totally destroy one’s life. Antony and Cleopatra is another tragedy, with romantic themes, showing that sometimes love and power may not get along well with each other. Although love is a high value, it should not stand in our way to perform our duties.
